Problems with clock Radios? -Shopping - gifts

Sometimes alarm clock radio break down. The following is what to do for repair.

1. Verify the power to the output and make sure the power is on.

2. Check the pointer. Some domestic radio by using a station frequency pointer mounted on a cable of telephone access that moves from a small wheel of the clock radio. Other domestic radio by using a digital frequency of reading that cannot be adjusted.

3 If the sound is diffuse, unmount the drive and locate the volume control. Spray cleaner electrical contact control and spin or slide control several times to lubricate the mechanism.

4 Replacing a broken or damaged antenna.

Most modern clock radios are based on the printed circuit boards that can only be repaired by trained technicians. Some of the tools you need are screwdrivers, nuts keys, electronic control cleaner, denatural alcohol, soldering iron and welding.

Reset pointer Dial

1. Turn on the radio. Find a strong radio signal, listen to the frequency.

2 Use a piece of tape or grease pencil to dial the dial where should be the pointer to that frequency.

3 Unplug the receiver and open the cover. There are usually two to four screws at the bottom of the radio.

4. Ensure that problems, pointer mechanism such as a cord that came in the roller end or a break in the cable. Replace the broken cable or repair it.

5 Loosen the spring clips move pointer cord dial up station to be received lines up with the tape or the mark on the dial.

6. Press the cable clips. Make sure that does not move the pointer.

7 Connect the radio and check the dial pointer reads correctly.

Replacement of external antenna

1 Loosen the screw of the antenna.

2 If there is no external screw, open radio and have access to the base of antenna.

An internal antenna replacement

1 Unplug the receiver and open the cover.

2. Search for and remove the internal base of the external antenna, antenna.

3 Make sure that the wires wound around the damaged antenna. Make sure that the antenna is connected firmly in the main circuit board. If the antenna is damaged, replace or attempt to repair the antenna or radio as a unit.

Clean electronics

1 Unplug the receiver and open the cover.

2. Use canned air to dust blow of components, including any power cables and connectors for speakers.

3 Use electrical contact cleaner or a cotton swab is soaked in dentured alcohol to clean electronic components.

4 If it is broken in a circuit board components, replace the circuit board. Before buying a circuit board, you can use a welder and electronic welding to repair.

They have now repaired the clock radio by yourself.
